It was back in 1937 that Margaret Rudkin had the idea create a business out of the home-baked bread that she originally made just for her youngest son. She named it “Pepperidge Farm”, after their family-owned property. In 1961, Pepperidge Farm was bought by and became a subsidiary of Campbell’s.
